This is a non spoiler review, because you as reader need to read this book. Also, I feel sometimes I have in the past gave away to much of the plot line. This has diminished the pleasure for would be readers.

Following the death of her mother, Princess Bathilde de Sevreau, is sent to the convent school the Ursulines in Niort, France. Being very young Bathilde is taken under the wing by an older student, Myrte Vernier. The two girls form a close endearing sisterly bond, as the years pass. Both knowing that their future will be decided for them with arranged marriages.
Princess Bathilde de Sevreau is able to take holidays away from the covent with her farther to visit the Queen, there she meets King Louis and his vivacious brother Phillipe. Setting a course for Bathilde future, as she will need her wits about her as she navigates through intrigue in the decadent Sun King’s court.
Margaret Porter propulsive storyline, offering both drama and historical authenticity to appeal to anyone interested in or adores historical fiction. I was captivated from page one. I found this story to be entertaining, well thought out, perfectly paced, and exciting to read.
A beautiful historical fiction with a touch of magical realism. Readers will fall in love with the characters as they face heartache, betrayal and finally redemption.
