Dr Rebka Tyler is an expert in medieval and Renaissance studies, has alway been plagued by a recurring vision. Something she has grown accustomed to, but they are still unnerving to her. She has recently been approved for eighteen months leave, to further her research in England. When mail from a solicitor office in London office arrives. Rebka Tyler’s life is about to change when she opens an envelope with heavy paper and old world styled handwriting. The letter’s contents informs her that she is the only surviving relative of the late Lady Parsons of Wiltshire. She has been left a comfortable Estate that includes the family holding, and Fayne Manor House.

She is excited for opportunity to find more about her family, since her father never revealed any information.

Upon arriving a series of events take place and Rebka finds herself transported back to another time.

Lord Arik, encounters a young woman wondering on his lands, unsure of what to make of Rebeka. Thinking she might be some sort of spy. Even though she claims to be a scribe from London, he has haunch that she is not being completely honest.

Ruth A. Casie brings her gift of storytelling through out this engaging book.

She combines vibrant era details, along with incredible characterization. Rebeka and Lord Arik conduct themselves exactly as they should given their backgrounds and the medieval time period they are placed in.

The Innovative medieval world building and incisive character development make this compulsively readable. The author has created an engaging and memorable heroine, and her highly accomplished writing ensures that the reader is swept along in this magical historical romance. The characterizations of places and time along with the characters themselves were absolutely wonderful and so vividly descriptive, placing me easily into the heart of this novel.

Casie’s strong narration carries the reader through a series of trial and tribulations leading you up to the ending. I thought the ending was superbly executed setting up for any follow up book.

If you enjoy historical romance, I highly recommend this book! I read into the early hours of the morning to see what would happen next, and so came to care for the characters, and I hope we see many of them again in future books!

The Girl in the Painting is a masterfully weaved historical fiction. A compelling dual time frame that weaves seamless from the mid 1800s and early 1900s.

Tea Coopers’s latest full length book is another stunning historical fiction. A tale that spans 50 years with mystery and twists to keep any reader on their toes.

Tea Coopers’s has once again, captivated me from page one. I found this story to be entertaining, well thought out, perfectly paced, exciting and intelligent. The author ability to give the reader various perspectives flowed perfectly, revealing new pieces of this historical puzzle.

1906 Maitland town, a precocious Jane Piper nine years is an orphan at a Catholic orphanage. She is summoned to a meeting with a businessman, Michael Ó’Cuinn.

He offers her a once in a lifetime chance, to live with Michael and his notable sister Elizabeth. Her mathematical skills are what draws the Ó’Cuinn’s to her. She is mathematically genius something they wish to cultivate. Even though Jane will soon come to call them Aunt and Uncle. She wasn’t officially adopted but was still considered very much part of the family.

1862 fifteen year old Michael Ó’Cuinn, and his little sister Elizabeth are booked for passage to immigrate from Dublin to ultimately Australia. When a series of events that prevent Elizabeth to travel accompanied by Michael. Instead she travels in the care of a family by the last name Cameron. Camerons who are travelling to Sydney, offer to have Elizabeth share their family accommodation.

Upon arriving in Australia both Michael and Elizabeth find obstacles and setbacks both personal and in business. The family business’s struggles and rise is meticulously detailed along with the brother and sisters personal life.

When the Ó’Cuinn’s take young Jane Piper into their care, they have already made their fortunes in business. Jane’s characters leaps off the page, and I loved reading her personal thoughts. She is bold and forthright as she enter the Ó’Cuinn’s household.

The storyline is exceptional written and the events are beautifully written as the author touches on some emotional thought provoking issues.

I have say by far this is my favorite out of all of Tea Coopers books I have read.This is a Book I highly recommend, a perfect example of a stunning historical fiction.

Sweet & Bitter Magic is a gorgeously written debut by Adrienne Tooley.

Seventeen year old Tamsin is a banished witch living and serving the townspeople of Ladaugh. Cast out from the coven where normally she would have faced death for her misguided decision using dark magic. She is instead cursed with the inability to feel life’s joys and love. Expelled from the World Within, she only excepts payment from the ordinary folk in the form a commodity of love. Living in a perpetual gray existence, she is bitter. Only twelve years old Tamsin was once headed to greatness. When five years prior she attempted to use dark magic, and bind her power to that of her twin sister’s life. A heavy handed penance for such a young witch all because she loved her sister so much that she would risk anything.

You are thrown right into a beautiful, vivid and established world with fully fleshed out characters, and a exceptional magical system. A book was so entertaining and extremely hard for me to put down, I completely raced through this one!

Adrienne Tooley excels and precision narration with alternating chapters between the third-person POV of two protagonists. This is no ordinary Y’a Fantasy, with action adventure. This tale has substance, hands down! The characters are raw and believable. The strength of this novel handsdown is the author’s fabulous characterizations.

The love story is a slow burn sapphic one, that took just the right amount of steps.The storyline was creative and original. Rich atmospheric details was a highlight in this YA Fantasy. I found it to be riveting and intensely entertaining.

Looking forward to reading more from this talented author. I have a feeling that Adrienne Tooley is going to be an auto buy author for me.

During the years as a hostage, at King Gervase’s court he befriends and develops a relationships with another child Claire de Murrow.

In a series of events that have a climatic change in Ransom’s situation. He becomes in broiled in courtly drama and intrigue. Taking his destiny into his own hands and trains as a Knight. His determination, and internal moral code makes him a strong and compelling character. Jeff Wheeler expanding magic system is notable. The setting and world building are brought to life with unique details making highly compulsive. Character development and the complexity of the relationship between Ransom and Claire are wonderful depicted.

The writing flows effortlessly and was mesmerizing, Wheeler has a real way with words that pulls you in. I have to say that Wheeler is dynamic storyteller, plain and simple. This book checks all my points on what makes for a exquisite fantasy fiction.

Hands down Wheeler’s ability to create an enduring hero, is applauded. There are a few suspenseful twists to keep you guessing, and the ending is set up in a way for the next installment.

Once again Jeff Wheeler delivers a bold new fantasy with knightly adventure, that is engaging, and makes for one stunning book. This is one book I highly recommend if enjoy exceptional fantasy fiction.

The final installment in The Gifted and the Cursed trilogy

The End of Dreams is a fantastic, epic conclusion.

Once again Lee’s adrenaline rush storytelling is brilliantly executed.

The End of Dreams picks up in the wake of the events following Tristian’s Folly.

The characters have been scattered, from the battle and the siege.

The storyline is well paced with reveals that come at just the right time. The authors narration and the flows effortlessly and smoothly. Making this book a fast read one that I completely inhaled.

The tension of this book is like tightly coiled spring. The world building is rich and stunning. The atmospheric details are astounding , but hands down its the authors ability to create a strong character driven fantasy. You become invested in the characters and what happing to them as you follow in their trial and tribulations.

Lee is able to tie all the loose ends together, to make a solid conclusion. As a reader you won’t be disappointed, I have to say that that even though it is the last book of this series, it is by far my favorite. There is a thread that loops around that was started in the first book that continues through the second book all the way through leading and connecting the characters as the storyline unfolds. The battle scenes are perfectly orchestrated and you will find yourself front and center as the this action packed tale will have hooked.

An exceptional intensely entertaining fantasy series, that holds a special place on my library shelve.

Writing hasn’t always been a serious hobby for me … but it has always been there, lurking in the shadows, serving me well when called upon.

As I look back over the years, I realise I was guilty of writing many short stories, as well as poetry, and I’d like to think, that even if they were never intended to be published, they were nonetheless warmly received by the intended recipients.

Then in 2019, I was inspired to write not just a short story, or poetry, but a book. Then, suddenly, one book turned into a trilogy and a labour of love, and it was a love I wanted to share with the world.

So, here we are. The pandemic that put my career in sport on hold also gave me the opportunity to lavish time on my alternative hobby, or if demand dictates my new career.

However, only you, the reader, will decide whether this trilogy, which is still a work in progress, will be the first of many. I genuinely hope so.

Who knows, now these creatives juices are flowing, I might just keep on writing anyway.

Epic fantasy has been my favourite genre since I first read The Odyssey and The Illiad as a seven-year-old. Now it’s my turn to see if I can bring another world to life in the imagination of others.

The last installment in Patricia Bracewell in The Emma Of Normandy Trilogy.

A beguiling richly atmospheric book that catapults the reader into the the eleventh century. An unpredictable turbulent time, with complex alliances continuously moving back and forth. Both England and the Danes struggle to gain supreme rule, but only one will succeed.

A stunning woven tapestry with an expansive cast of well defined characters.

The Viking Dane’s have been raging a continuous war, with their ultimate goal being complete invasion. England and King Æthelred, are barely holding on.

Emma was sent to England as a child bride of Normandy. An arranged marriage to the English King Athelred. His unstable ability to remain on the throne is evident and his paranoid disposition is evident. As the storyline progresses we see the fall of this King and rise of another. A compelling tale of vindictive characters and power struggles as the rise and fall of the English empire swiftly changes.

Patricia Bracewell unique descriptive prose is astounding, as she deftly weaves threads of historical fact along with her own imagined creativity, to create a colourful fabric affording unique insights into the life of Emma of Normandy of eleventh century.

Focusing on the years 1012 to 1017 Queen Emma growth of character is superbly done. Her strength and fortitude is evident as seek to align herself with those who would benefit her and her sons. Bracewell writing is polished with impeccable execution and has been worth the wait.

Historical fans will be pleased with this last book in this powerful series. Emma of Normandy’s story comes full to life under Bracewell very talented writing expertise. This legendary Queen who’s place in history has been somewhat over looked by the masses.

A stunning series that will richly reward the attention of any reader who enjoys strong heroines, and engaging historical fiction.

Her first novel, Shadow on the Crown, about the 11th-century queen of England, Emma of Normandy, was published in 2013. Its sequel, The Price of Blood, appeared in 2015. Cassandra Linfield, was given an unconventional upbringing, her father encouraged her love for the geological sciences. She is no simpering miss, and would be perfectly happy being a spinster, or so she thinks. Spending her time combing beaches unearthing treasured fossils. Eventually she will have to conform and she finds herself having her first London’s season.

Cassandra, is a character that you can not help feel drawn to. A young lady who follows the beat of her own drum. She is willful and can be quite stubborn, making her a perfect independent leading lady.

Lord Edward Sinclair, Earl of Rothbury is a geologist, has given up marrying for love. Now seeking a wife for convenience, meets lovely Cassy in a most unique situations.

On the beach while she is preoccupied with finding fossils for her extensive collection. Without a care in the world about her appearance.

The two meet again in London, while their paths cross during the London’s season, while dodging would be suitors. Edward cynical personality slowly changes toward Cassy, as two find themselves working together on a geological paper. Events unfold and Cassandra finds herself a direct object of malicious intent.

Baxter gives us an engaging and memorable heroine, and her highly accomplished writing ensures that the reader is swept along in this lovely historical romance Cassandra, is a character that you can feel drawn to. You can’t help but root for her. A young lady who follows the beat of her own drum. She is willful and can be quite stubborn, making her a perfect leading lady.

Alyssa Baxter delivers a well-paced and beautifully written story here, that is both interesting, compelling. The characters are well developed and I found quite compassionate to read about. The setting and Regency period details were authentic. The witty dialogue was well executed, along with the sensitivity of some of the emotional aspects of the story. That I found added more depth to the storyline.

This heart warming regency story captivated my heart. The romance was lovely as the chemistry blossomed slowly but gracefully. A perfect read for me, I highly recommend this book to friends and family.

Alissa Baxter was born in a small town in South Africa, and grew up with her nose in a book on a poultry and cattle farm. At the age of eleven she discovered her mother’s collection of Georgette Heyer novels. The first Heyer novel she ever read was Sylvester and she was hooked on Georgette Heyer after that. She read and reread her novels, and fell totally in love with the Regency period and Heyer’s grey-eyed heroes! After school and university, where she majored in Political Science and French, she published her first Regency novel, The Dashing Debutante.

Alissa travelled overseas and worked as a flight attendant in Dubai before she moved to England, where she did an odd assortment of jobs while researching her second novel, Lord Fenmore’s Wager, which she wrote when she moved back to South Africa. Alissa’s third Regency novel, A Marchioness Below Stairs, is the sequel to Lord Fenmore’s Wager.

Alissa has lived in Durban and Cape Town but she eventually settled in Johannesburg where she lives with her husband and two sons. Isoldesse by Kimberly Grymes, is an urban sci-FYI with fantasy elements.

The storyline follows a group of college friends, with end of college drawing to a close. Secrets are plentiful, and certain events catapult the group into a dynamic adventure. An engaging storytold in alternating perspectives from a vast cast of characters. I felt drawn to Kenna and Meegan, enjoying their narration as the storyline unfolded. As they are thrown into a battle of alien races along with their friends.

Innovative world building and magic system makes this compulsively readable.

When Kimberly Grymes is not writing, reading, or blogging, she’s usually hanging out with her husband and kids, baking treats, or keeping busy with crafts. As much as she enjoys reading books, she loves watching movies and TV, and is always on the lookout for the next great sci-fi or fantasy show to watch. Her favorite part of the day is TV time in the evening with her husband and two min-pins, Jubilee and Cori. She currently lives in Kansas, where her allergies are much better than they were in Connecticut.

Assistance arrives in the form of Sophie Carlisle, a young journalist with dreams of covering a big story, though she is forced to masquerade as a man to do it. Trapped in an engagement to a man she doesn’t love, Sophie yearns to break free to tell stories that matter about London’s darker side—gaming, prostitution, violence—and realizes Tom could be the one to help. Together, they come up with a plan.

Straddling the line between his need for vengeance and the need to hide his true identity as a politician’s son becomes increasingly difficult as Tom is pressured to win more fights. The more he wins, the more notoriety he receives, and the greater the chance his identity may be exposed—a revelation that could jeopardize his father’s political aspirations and destroy his family’s reputation.

Sophie is also in danger as hysteria spreads and the attacks increase in severity and frequency. No one knows who to trust, and no one is safe—Tom included, yet he refuses to end the hunt.

Little does he realize, the monster is also hunting him.

The London Monster by Donna Scott, Is Perfection!

Donna Scott’s latest novel is a must read for those who enjoy phenomenal suspense historical fiction.

Set in England as we are leaving behind the Georgian Period, and rushing into the Regency Era.

There is a Monstrous villain is loose in London, exactly one hundred years before the notorious Jake the Ripper. Sophie Carlisle is a bold young lady, who struggles under the bonds that have been placed upon her by her social standing, and what is expected of women during this time period. It would seem her life is all planned out for her, soon to be married. She is engaged to Cuthbert, but is not in love with him.

Throwing caution, and her reputation, out the window. She is driven to be known as an accomplished journalist. Seeking information about the latest developments of the the vile man who is stalking the beautiful woman of London. Going under cover she befriends a girl Maeve from Parker’s Place bawdy house.

Thomas Hayes, was at the wrong place and the time. He encounter the dangerous individual who is prying on woman. Mistaken for the Illustrious criminal, he finds himself at the end of noose. Fate would seem to be un his side when a miraculous event occurs. His actions are a sore spot for his family and he is constantly reminded that his appearance within society should be beyond reproach.

Then we have the villain himself, his incredible thoughts and feelings are cleverly journaled within the books chapters. The London Monster’s diabolical actions are laid open for the reader to be expertly enticed into his rationalization of his crimes.

He prides himself on his cleverness to elude those seeking to capture him.

Once again Donna Scott mastered the art of brilliant narration. This one of my most favourite books in this genre.

This is one of those books that you just have to read to know what feeling I’m getting at. It sucks you in and keeps you hungry for more until you reach the mind-blowing ending. It’s a unique and unforgettable story told through a brilliant multi narrative.

The author delivers an intriguing, engaging, complex and well-written multi-layered story here with absolutely wonderful character development, a suspenseful mystery, and a thoughtful and emotional storyline. 

I was absorbed deep within these characters lives, questioning their situations and decisions. I couldn’t figure out who to believe – my thoughts flip flopped from one chapter to the next. The narrative was brilliantly executed – I loved the way the plot unfolded. I was completely invested in the storyline. I was was invested in the love triangle and I thought the London Monster’s diary entries are fascinating.

I highly recommend getting your hands on a copy!

Donna Scott is an award-winning author of 17th and 18th century historical fiction. Before embarking on a writing career, she spent her time in the world of academia. She earned her BA in English from the University of Miami and her MS and EdD (ABD) from Florida International University. She has two sons and lives in sunny South Florida with her husband. SONS OF PEMBERLEY: A PRIDE & PREJUDICE REIMAGINING BY ELIZABETH ADAMS

Elizabeth Adams has written a wonderfully reimagined Autenque.

I was captivated and enjoyed how the author created a wonderful heartbreaking storyline, while taking liberties with Austen’s characters.

You have George Darcy, Samuel Wickham, Fitzwilliam Darcy and George Wickham., who make up the Sons of Pemberley. This version centers on Lady Anne, a well known character of Jane Austen. Her life and her love story, along with many more characters in Pride & Prejudice.

A richly detailed in-depth family saga, that weaves seamlessly back and forth. Lady Anne and George Darcy, along with their sons make up the eloquently written tale. Adams should be applauded for originality, along with her impeccable characters development.

Told in dual time lines that flow superbly, allowing the reader to become more intimate with the characters. The authors recreation of a beloved classic is masterly done.

She writes romantic comedy and comedic drama in both historic and modern settings.

This Golden Flame, is a debut novel by the by the author Emily Victoria.

This is a fast paced moving magical adventure, with engaging characters and a stunning magical system.

The author seamless narration flows perfectly as the book is told by to POV’s. This tale starts with Karis and Alix, kidnapped off the streets of their home island. Karis finds herself forcibly separated from her brother when they were brought to Tallis island.

Karis’s ultimate goal is to find her brother once arriving at the Scriptorium. Seven long years of separation, and during this time she steals books and teaches non-binary character, to a m/m relationship, all of which is openly accepted without problem. But we also get an asexual main character in Karis. Adding more depth to the characters made for a memorable book. This is one book that shrugs off the normal suffering of some books have with their romantic entanglements.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I and am looking forward to reading future work from this author

Emily Victoria is a Canadian prairie girl who writes young adult science fiction and fantasy. When not word-smithing, she likes walking her over-excitable dog, drinking far too much tea, and crocheting things she no longer has the space to store.

A battle is under way between those that follow the archangel Gideon, the leader of Sseraph, who avenges the innocent people of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Celestials who seek keep earth and mortals safe.

The storyline grabs your attention as we follow Malachi, who finds himself relived of his duties and becomes earthbound by the five Celestials. His frequent travels between the celestia and his nonconformist beliefs, makes him more of a target for capture by the Sseraph.

Earthbound, he becomes an Immortal Guardian of the Temple of Thoth

The Thoth is in the process of developing its academic advances of writing and mathematic. When the time is right Malachi, transitions his guardianship of the Thoth temple to that of Katherine the Adamantine. He is needed to ensure the great tutor Aristotle is safe, his philosophy is is counterproductive to the Seraph rebellion.

In 1620 Daphne is given a rare opportunity to study under Master Dante Santorum, the acclaimed alchemist. With her unique gift with the elements she envied by those who are jealous of her apprenticeship to the Master. In a chance meeting Malachi reveals himself to Daphne. Sparks fly and soon Malachi is drawn to Daphne.

Malachi remains in the shadows alway watching and guarding.

An adventurous tale that blends, mythology, alchemy and history, into a clever fantasy. The author’s descriptive narration flows as book expand across lengthy time periods. The characters are well executed and the storyline is highly original. There is a developing romance and the good verses evil is a consistent theme through out the book.

If you enjoy mythology this is great book and you find it a fast paced read.

Pittsburgh has provided an interesting, vibrant and eclectic place to grow up and eventually become a writer of stories. Stories through which History, Science, Alchemy, Romance, High Stakes, and Mythology are woven.

My writing is also touched by ghostly echoes which greet me as I hike or bike through what were once bustling sites from the age of industry of the region, now reclaimed by nature. These are the ethereal remnants of those who shed their blood, sweat and tears onto what is now sacred ground.

Come dive into the stories shaped by these unique forges. The twists in the path are unexpected, fraught with danger, but always worth the journey.

Where passion and love take root unexpectedly, bloom, and somehow manage to survive against all odds, one surprising way or another.
