The Spear that pierced Christ’s side on the Cross has played a secret, but major role in history. Charlemagne, Constantine, Otto the Barbarian, The Knights Templar and Adolf Hitler all owned it… and believed it gave them the power to rule the world.

What if they were right?

The first time Dr. Cait Monahan ever heard of the Spear of Longinus was the night her husband was murdered because of it. That was when the terror began.

…right before the U.S. Government, the CIA, Neo Nazis, the Vatican and a secret cabal of 13 powerful global manipulators sent their assassins after her and her 9 year old.

…just before a lethal secret propelled her across Europe following a riddle that hadn’t been solved since the Holocaust.

…just before Cait Monahan became entrapped in an interdimensional labyrinth that her own husband may have helped design.

Now she’s a player in a game that has led to mystery, magic, mayhem and murder for over 2000 years, and only the help of a tribunal of long dead men may be able to save her.

Vibrant and cerebral, filled with intrigue, Conspiracy Theory and more ancient secrets than the Dead Sea Scrolls, Lark’s Labyrinth pits characters you’ll care about against a mystery you’ll want to solve.

Inside Lark’s Labyrinth is a secret men have killed for …now a woman, her sister, her child and their small band of friends are all that stand between us and the dark, insidious power that’s a hairsbreadth away from ruling the world.

Have I got your attention yet?

C. L. Garber, is the acclaimed of the much loved, Ascenders Series.

After reading this incredible book I can see where this author has amassed such a dedicated following.

A dark tale that of Witchery that unfolds as you are thrown into the lives of four fraternal quadruplet girls.

These twisted sisters are each named Claire, but to discord any confusion they all go by their middle name. The Claires were born in 1911, they first died together in 1928 at age seventeen.

The Claires is the first novel spin-off of the best-selling Ascenders Book Saga. A captivating, highly entertaining book, where four girls, quadruplets, share the name Claire….and nothing else.. They each posses a unique magical ability, but most assuredly will be violently murdered on their 17th birthday. No exceptions. Period case closed..

If that isn’t enough to handle, this continuous cycle has on going since the early 1900’s. Somewhere in the world, a woman finds out she’s pregnant with quads. The Claires return to a new family. This fast paced book will keep you turning the pages to see if they can break a curse that guarantees that they ultimately will die young.

Now it’s current-day Los Angeles, for the girls, and once again, their seventeenth birthday is fast approaching. Will they be able to save themselves?

The Claires, is an stunning novel that gives insight into the lives of four complex teenage girls. A wicked tale with seamless narration, that alternates in between each point of views past and present. As the storyline progresses the characters themselves go from being morally greyish to something more entirely.. Casting a dark ominous light on them.

This can be enjoyed as a stand alone or within The Ascenders Series.

The Coronation Review and Book Tour

#JustinNewland @LoveBooksGroup  @matadorbooks

It is 1761. Prussia is at war with Russia and Austria. As the Russian army occupies East Prussia, King Frederick the Great and his men fight hard to win back their homeland.

In Ludwigshain, a Junker estate in East Prussia, Countess Marion von Adler celebrates an exceptional harvest. But this is soon requisitioned by Russian troops. When Marion tries to stop them, a Russian Captain strikes her. His Lieutenant, Ian Fermor, defends Marion’s honour, but is stabbed for his insubordination. Abandoned by the Russians, Fermor becomes a divisive figure on the estate.

Close to death, Fermor dreams of the Adler, a numinous eagle entity, whose territory extends across the lands of Northern Europe and which is mysteriously connected to the Enlightenment. What happens next will change the course of human history…

The Coronation

This book was received from the Author, and Publisher, in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

Newland’s latest historical spiritual realism , offers a first hand look at 18th Century Prussia. A stunning atmospheric historical fiction of a Land owning family and matriarch set to the backdrop of Seven Years War

This is the third book from the Justin Newland.

The story takes place 1761 in Prussia, during The Seven Years’ War, a great global war fought between 1756 and 1763. It involved all five European great powers of the time plus many of the middle powers and spanned five continents, affecting Europe, the Americas, West Africa, India, and the Philippines.

The book centers around Marion Grafin Von Alder, a matriarch and her family.

The Aldler’s own a sizable estate, and the care of people and the lands are in the hands of Mrs Aldler while her husband is away at war. A turbulent time that cost Prussia and it’s people dearly. This wonderful historical fictional tale will hold your attention as the author weaves a storyline that has different creative plots, along a spiritual message. The characters are well developed and captivating, I enjoyed the flowing prose and depth of effects of war and how it effected the lives of the characters as they struggled to survive during this time period.

The messages of honor and the greater good is depicted beautifully and sublime.

This stunning book is set during the Enlightenment in the 18th Century which reveals the secret history of perhaps the single most important event of the modern world – The Industrial Revolution.

After a long career in I.T., Justin’s love of literature finally seduced him and, in 2006, he found his way to the creative keyboard to write his first novel.
Justin writes secret histories in which historical events and people are guided and motivated by numinous and supernatural forces.
His debut novel, The Genes of Isis, is a tale of love, destruction, and ephemeral power set under the skies of Ancient Egypt, and which tells the secret history of the human race, Homo Sapiens Sapiens.
His second is The Old Dragon’s Head, a historical fantasy and supernatural thriller set during the Ming Dynasty and played out in the shadows the Great Wall of China. It explores the secret history of the influences that shaped the beginnings of our times.

Justin does books signings and gives author talks in libraries in South West England. He has appeared at many Literary Festivals, including Bristol, Weston-super-mare and Exeter. He regularly gives interviews on BBC local radio and local FM radio stations.

Justin Newland writes history with a supernatural bent. His novels are The Genes of Isis, an epic fantasy set under Ancient Egyptian skies, and The Old Dragon’s Head, a historical fantasy played out in the shadows of the Great Wall of China. He lives with his partner in Somerset, England.
